Ben is the largest of our Nitro x Sydney males. He was one of our favorites from a young age. His engaging and friendly personality endears him to those who know him. He was the largest pup at birth and the first to venture out of the whelping box. Ben earned his name from "Big Ben," the tower clock in London, which is large and loud just like our Ben. As you can see from his collars in the puppy and adult photos, he will forever be our "orange boy."

We co-owned Ben for a while with an accomplished AKC handler, but he wore out his welcome at her house because of his booming bawl mouth. Once he was back with us, we realized he was aging like a fine wine and would not be leaving our family again--even on a co-ownership. His dark coat and eye, heavy bone, tight feet, gorgeous topline, and correct angles make him a spectacular specimen of the breed. If we were to summarize Ben's conformation in one word, "balanced" would be an apt description.

We have high hopes for Ben as a competition dog and reproducer. I see a little of both parents in Ben, a very nice mix. The Sidearm blood runs strong in Ben. Our friend Lori Mills of Sidearm Kennel once told us Ben looked like a cookie-cutter Sidearm male straight out of the Sidearm cookie jar. His "typey" look reflects the strong Sidearm blood on both sides of his pedigree.
