Our multi-Grand Champion Sydney came to us from Kat and Rob Childers at Tree Rizin' Redbones in Ohio. At that time Syd was already an accomplished show dog, having earned her UKC Grand Champion title and winning the 2008 UKC Redbone Show Dog of the Year award with Kat handling. We will be forever grateful to Kat for entrusting us with this beautiful bitch as our foundation for future breeding plans.

When she came to live in Colorado, we began to prepare for Syd's AKC career. 2010 was the first year AKC recognized Redbone Coonhounds in the all-breed ring, so we hoped for a promising debut for Syd and the breed as a whole. Little did we know that she would win a Best of Breed and a Group 2 Placement at her very first show! This was the Colorado Kennel Club show, the largest show in the Rockies, with a few thousand dogs in competition. We knew then that we could expect big things from Syd, and she hasn't disappointed us. After a highly successful first year in the AKC ring, she wrapped up 2010 by taking Best of Opposite Sex at the AKC/Eukanuba National Championship In Long Beach, California, an invitational show highlighting some of the best dogs in the country. Syd went on to finish to AKC Grand Champion with very limited showing, defeating three separate Grand Champions and one Champion in the process.Sydney is a multiple Best of Breed and Group Placement winner. She is handled by Karissa Samuelson and our friend Laura Bergstraser.

When she's not competing at dog shows, Syd enjoys a comfortable life and can often be found curled up on a bed or couch. In the woods, she has a loud, deep bawl/chop mouth on track and an impressive chop mouth on tree. She is not hunted in competition hunts but tracks and trees well on drags and released coons. She comes from a long line of competition show, field, water, and hunt dogs.

As a producer, Sydney has offspring that are UKC and AKC champions. Some of her pups have also done very well in the woods, including Bruce Wayne, a son who was tragically killed on the road during a night hunt.

Sydney's breeder is Joanne Marcoux at Sierra Legacy Kennels. She is a daughter of two of Joanne's best: Jimmy and Missy.
